| RAIN OUT POLICY |
The Westbury Soccer Club Rainout Hotline is 713-729-6062. This covers all fields: Bayland Fields, Ron Meek Field, Parker Field and Kolter Fields. Coaches and players should assume that ALL games will be played unless the hosting soccer club closes the field. Field closing shall be posted by 8:00AM on the day of the game. If the recorded message is NOT for that specific day, then all fields should be considered OPEN. A second determination of field conditions is provided by the Referees at the time of the game. If conditions change between the 8:00AM posting and the actual game time, then referee is required to assess field conditions and if necessary cancel the game. The decision to call a rainout is based upon the concerns for the safety of the players and protection of the field playing surfaces. Hard rain and cold weather may be miserable to play in, however they do NOT constitute cause to cancel a game. HYSA states that the decision to close a field "must be based upon danger to players or impossible playing conditions." These are defined by HYSA as:
The following procedure applies to closure of the Parker, Kolter, Bayland and Ron Meek Fields:
The decision by the Field Coordinator is final. If a field is closed, ALL GAMES THAT DAY ARE CANCELLED. The Field Coordinators and Referee Assignor will identify a backup for any weeks that they will be unavailable during the season. |
